Women in Horror Month

February is Women in Horror Month.

Borrowed from the above website:

“Women in Horror Month (WiHM) is an international, grassroots initiative, which encourages supporters to learn about and showcase the underrepresented work of women in the horror industries. Whether they are on the screen, behind the scenes, or contributing in their other various artistic ways, it is clear that women love, appreciate, and contribute to the horror genre.”

I’m pleased to be considered a member of this group. Women have an astounding presence in the horror genre. From those who craft worlds of fiction, to those who report on the grisly world around us, and onward to the screen, women have helped shape the horror genre since its inception.

Horror Tree will be doing several guest posts during WiHM. I’m looking forward to reading submissions from strong women in the industry.
